Infineon Microcontrollers for Various Motor Control Applications
Infineon Technologies offers an extensive product portfolio for Motor Drive Systems - from real time embedded Microcontrollers to Smart Power ICs which are capable to control any Motor Drive System.
Infineon's 8-bit, 16-bit and 32-bit microcontrollers are the perfect choice to control any electrical machine due to advanced peripheral sets, which are dedicated to achieve high performance in any motor drive logic design.
The XC800 family is a high performance 8-bit microcontroller with On-Chip flash memory, uniquely designed to support complex control mechanism like Sinusoidal / Block Commutation Control, Stepper (3-phase), Induction Motor (Open Loop) and Brushless DC (Sensor-less) with speed control.
Infineon’s 16-bit XC166 family offers comprehensive features with highly integrated peripherals specially designed for maximum speed and performance. Our 16-bit XC166 devices are suited for all types of motor drive control systems like Servo, Brushless DC (3-phase), Stepper, Induction, Switched Reluctance and DC motors applications.
The new 32-bit TriCore™ based microcontrollers are an excellent choice to control high-complexity Motor Drive Systems like the Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor, Multi-phase Stepper Motor, and Induction Motor (High-End Field Orientation) Motors.
At Infineon, we understand the choice of the microcontroller in your design determines the performance and cost of your Motor Drive Solution. In Figure 1 below, we outline the wide possibilities with Infineon’s microcontrollers for all your Motor Drive design needs.
